MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621055889 A) filed by Sage University on May 01, 2026, for System And Method For Tracking Returnable Containers In Infrastructure- Deficient Environments.
Inventors include Dr. Prashant Jain; Ms. Sakshi Agrawal; Prof. Ranu Thakur; Ishwar Chouhan; and Omkar Singh.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT The present disclosure relates to a system for tracking returnable containers in infrastructure-deficient environments. The system (100) includes a radio frequency identification reader (104), a rechargeable battery (110), a wireless communication interface (106), and a microcontroller (102). The radio frequency identification reader (104) interrogates passive tags and generates tag identification data. The microcontroller (102) associates synchronization status flags with tag identification data and manages state transitions between first, second, and third states based on battery charge level and cellular signal strength from the wireless communication interface (106). During the third state, unsynchronized tag identification data transmits when signal strength exceeds a predetermined threshold, enabling signal-gated synchronization. When signal strength falls below the threshold, the system (100) reverts to the second state for autonomous offline tracking. A speaker (108) generates audible confirmations in regional Indian languages, enabling operators in infrastructure-deficient environments to effectively track returnable containers without continuous network connectivity.
