Abstract: Abstract: System and method for stress detection in wearable device using Hybrid HRV- Fractal Features The present invention relates to a wearable device (100) for personalized stress detection, particularly in the form of a smartwatch. The device (100) comprises an electrocardiogram (ECG) sensor (101) configured to acquire ECG signals from a user, and a processor (102) with associated memory (103) configured to execute signal processing operations. The processor (102) is configured to preprocess the ECG signals, segment the signals into time windows, and extract heart rate variability (HRV) features and nonlinear fractal features using a signal processing unit (104) and a feature extraction unit (106). The extracted features are combined to form a hybrid feature set by a feature fusion and normalization unit (107), which is classified using a machine learning model implemented in a classification unit (108) to determine stress states. A Personalized ECG Stress Index (PSI) is computed by a stress index computation unit (109) based on the extracted features and classification output, followed by subject-specific normalization using baseline physiological characteristics. The PSI provides a continuous measure of stress intensity. The device (100) enables continuous, real-time, and subject-adaptive stress monitoring with reduced computational complexity and low power consumption, suitable for wearable health monitoring applications.
