Abstract: The present invention relates to a sensor-integrated system and method for detection and classification of stator winding faults in a three-phase squirrel-cage induction motor. The system comprises current, speed, vibration and temperature sensors operatively connected to a controller configured to acquire real-time signals. The controller computes time-domain root mean square (RMS) values of phase currents and performs frequency-domain analysis using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to obtain fundamental and fault-related frequency components. Square current FFT analysis is performed to obtain further fault-related spectral components. The computed RMS values and spectral components are compared with predefined threshold values to classify stator winding faults. An open-phase fault is identified based on zero current duration, a phase-to-phase fault is identified based on RMS variation, and a turn- to-turn fault is identified based on variation in fundamental peak or fault-related frequency components. The controller prioritizes current and speed signals for reliable fault identification and safe-operation indication.
