MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621034452 A) filed by Mohite Vikram Narayan on March 22, 2026, for System And Method For Staged Conditioning Of Flue Gas To Control Acid Dew Point And Enable Enhanced Heat Recovery.
Inventor includes Mohite Vikram Narayan.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a system and method for conditioning and treatment of flue gas in industrial combustion systems to control acid dew point and enhance heat recovery. Flue gas containing sulfur trioxide (SO3) and water vapor can form sulfuric acid, limiting conventional heat recovery due to corrosion. The invention provides a staged conditioning approach in which flue gas is subjected to partial reduction of SO3 within a furnace convection section and further treated through downstream injection of reactive material. The conditioned flue gas may be directed to a centralized gas–liquid treatment system for cooling and removal of residual acid-forming components. A liquid recirculation system with adaptive chemical dosing regulates liquid-phase chemistry based on measured parameters. The system enables staged conditioning and decoupling of chemical treatment from heat recovery, resulting in improved thermal efficiency, reduced corrosion risk, and enhanced operational flexibility.
