MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641127063 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on October 25, 2026, for System And Method For Speech Authenticity Verification By Condition-Indexed Detector Response Analysis.

Inventors include Bhavani; P. Likitha; and Kavinila C.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method for verifying the authenticity of an acquired speech recording. The recording is standardised (102) and a fixed detector (104) gives a baseline probability P0 of synthetic speech. Controlled, condition-labelled probes (108) such as bandwidth limitation, codec processing and reverberation are applied to the same recording, and the same detector gives Pk for each. Signed responses Pk minus P0 (110) are normalised against the responses of genuine calibration recordings to the same condition (112), non- additive interactions between paired conditions are measured (114), and an artifact dependence index, evidencesufficiency and contradiction status arecomputed (116). A reliability controller (118) releases a Genuine or Synthetic decision only when the evidence is sufficient, consistent and reliable and P0 is beyond the decision threshold, and otherwise outputs Uncertain or Review, while a forensic record (126) of all measurements is retained.
