Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a computer-implemented system and method for spatiotemporal rain modeling and controllable rain synthesis in monocular images and video sequences. The disclosed system generates realistic rainy scenes by integrating a Geometry-Adaptive Rain Field Synthesis (GARFS) module (101), a Temporally Coherent Rain Dynamics (TCRD) module (102), and an Atmospheric Scattering and Visibility Modeling (ASVM) module (103). The system estimates scene depth from monocular RGB inputs and utilizes the depth information to generate geometry-consistent rain particles with adaptive spatial distribution, visibility, and motion characteristics. The TCRD module (102) maintains persistent particle states across consecutive frames to achieve temporally coherent rain motion. The ASVM module (103) simulates atmospheric scattering, airlight, visibility degradation, luminance attenuation, and photometric adaptation. The generated rain field and atmospheric representation are combined through opacity-based compositing to produce realistic rainy images and videos without requiring three-dimensional scene reconstruction.
