Abstract: ABSTRACT System and Method for Smart Medical Image Analysis and Diagnostic Assistance The disclosure relates to a system and method for smart medical image analysis and diagnostic assistance. The system takes in medical images from one or more imaging modalities and performs an adaptive image quality assessment to determine diagnostic suitability prior to analysis. A physics-driven artifact suppression module removes modality-specific artifacts while retaining clinically relevant tissue information. An anatomical structure consistency verification module verifies structural integrity and a multi-level region refinement module refines diagnostically important regions. A cross-modality diagnostic evidence fusion module correlates findings of pathology across multiple imaging modalities and a pathology evidence graph generation module generates structured relationships of evidence to support diagnosis. The system also assesses the robustness of diagnostic confidence, explores the disease progression using previous examinations, suggests optimized parameters for imaging acquisition, resolves conflicting diagnostic findings and produces explainable diagnostic reports. These modules can be used in conjunction by a processor executing instructions stored in a memory to enhance diagnostic accuracy, reduce unnecessary rescans, improve computational efficiency, improve clinical decision support, and provide reliable, evidence-based medical image analysis.
