MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621072244 A) filed by Sage University on June 10, 2026, for System And Method For Single Layered Antenna For Multiband Operations Using Isolated Coplanar Patches.

Abstract: A system for single layered antenna (102) for multiband operations using isolated co-planar patches includes a dielectric substrate (104) having a first surface and a second surface. A metallic ground plane (106) is disposed on the second surface of the dielectric substrate (104), featuring a full-width rectangular ground cut (108) extending across the entire width of the dielectric substrate (104). A top metallic patch layer (110) is disposed on the first surface of the dielectric substrate (104), incorporating a plurality of electrically isolated co-planar patch regions separated by non-conducting gaps. The isolated co-planar patch regions and the full-width rectangular ground cut (108) cooperate to produce multiband electromagnetic radiation at multiple mutually separated resonant frequencies. This single-layer architecture eliminates the complexity of multilayer antenna designs while achieving concurrent multiband operation, making the antenna (102) suitable for modern wireless communication systems requiring coverage across multiple frequency bands.
