Abstract: ABSTRACT System and Method for Sensor-Assisted Physiotherapy Exercise Monitoring and Correction The present disclosure concerns a sensor-assisted system and method for monitoring and correcting physiotherapy exercises. The system collects movement, posture, joint orientation, muscle activation, balance and pressure distribution information from a plurality of wearable and environmental sensors. An adaptive multi-layer sensor fusion engine, a dynamic sensor self-calibration module and a sensor reliability evaluation module compensate for sensor drift and unreliable measurements to generate accurate biomechanical information. A biomechanical digital twin of the patient continuously models patient-specific anatomical characteristics and progression of rehabilitation to predict expected movement trajectories. A joint kinematic reconstruction and compensatory movement identification module is used to identify the root causes of movement deviations, and a muscle fatigue prediction module and rehabilitation optimisation module dynamically adjust exercise parameters. Personalised corrective guidance is provided by a phase-wise closed- loop multimodal feedback module. Therapist supervision in the management of secure rehabilitation data improves the precision of movement, safety of rehabilitation, personalised therapy, and long-term clinical results.
