Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for controlling the number of times a digital message—such as a WhatsApp message or email—can be forwarded, based on restrictions defined by the original sender. The system embeds forward-count metadata within the message, allowing the sender to specify a maximum number of forwarding actions (N), independent of the number of recipients per forward. Each forward action is tracked cumulatively across devices and platforms using a secure identifier and a backend verification mechanism. Once the maximum allowable forwards are exhausted, the system disables further forwarding functionality for that message. This invention ensures sender-controlled message propagation, enhances digital content governance, and mitigates the unauthorized or viral spread of sensitive or limited-distribution messages. The method is applicable across messaging applications and email services, and operates in a platform-agnostic manner through client-server integration or decentralized ledger tracking. Figure -1
