MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641076763 A) filed by Asadullah Ansari on June 21, 2026, for System And Method For Secure Trailer Identification And Authentication In Ais140-Compliant Telematics Systems.

Inventor includes Asadullah Ansari.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for secure trailer identification and authentication in AIS140 compliant telematics systems. An RFID reader and a telematics control unit are provisioned with a common cryptographic seed during manufacturing. During runtime, dynamically derived authentication values are exchanged to establish a trusted communication session. Trailer identification information obtained from RFID observations is processed by a trailer trust engine configured to generate a trailer trust score using authentication status, historical trailer observations, geographical continuity information, reader behavioural information, and vehicle operational information. An anomaly detection engine identifies RFID cloning, replay attacks, communication tampering attacks, reader replacement attacks, and unauthorized trailer substitution events. The invention further provides tamper-detectable provenance records and optional artificial intelligence and blockchain embodiments for improving trailer trust evaluation and forensic integrity verification, thereby enhancing cybersecurity, trailer authenticity validation, and AIS140 compliance.
