Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a computer-implemented system (100) and method (300) for enabling secure digital payment transactions in offline or low-connectivity environments using a device-to-device mesh communication architecture. The system (100) comprises a plurality of participating devices (108) and intermediate relay devices (110) configured to generate, propagate, store, and forward transaction data packets using short-range communication protocols. Transactions are authenticated using cryptographic signatures and propagated through multi-hop routing without requiring continuous connectivity between payer (108-1) and payee devices (108-2). Upon any device obtaining network connectivity, the transaction data is transmitted to a server (102) for verification, risk assessment, and settlement. The system (100) incorporates adaptive routing optimization, local verification, temporary storage, and mechanisms such as transaction reservation and tokenization to prevent fraud and double-spending. The disclosure enables decentralized, fault-tolerant, and asynchronous transaction processing while maintaining compatibility with existing financial infrastructures, thereby improving reliability and accessibility of digital payments in disconnected environments.
