Abstract: ABSTRACT The present disclosure relates to a system and method for secure cloud storage and access control. A data object is segmented and encrypted using an object data-encryption key, and an integrity manifest is generated for encrypted segments stored in cloud storage. A cryptographic access envelope binds protected object-key material to an object identifier, policy digest, manifest digest and key epoch while key-release authority remains separated from bulk ciphertext storage. An access request is evaluated using identity and current trust information, and an authorized request receives a short-lived capability restricted to the object, operation and epoch. Key material is released only after validation of the capability and current object state, and retrieved segments are integrity-verified before decryption and reconstruction. Upon revocation or policy change, the key epoch is changed and the object-key envelope is re-wrapped or re-bound while unchanged bulk ciphertext remains stored, reducing data movement required for access-control updates.
