Abstract: The present invention relates to an automated system and method for ranking candidate resumes using an integrated framework comprising Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) techniques. The system is configured to receive a plurality of resumes in multiple formats along with a job description, define evaluation criteria and corresponding weights, and extract structured candidate information from unstructured resume data using NLP. The extracted data is processed through an MCDM module to compute weighted scores for each candidate and generate a ranked list based on suitability for the job role. The system provides customizable, transparent, and scalable candidate evaluation while reducing bias and improving accuracy. The invention is applicable to recruitment platforms, corporate human resource management systems, job portals, and talent assessment environments.
