MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541028897 A) filed by Chatbucket on March 27, 2025, for System And Method For Real-Time Sign Language Recognition And Translation.

Inventor includes Singavaram Sunil Kumar Singh.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system (100) and method (200) for real-time sign language recognition and translation includes an image sensor (102) and a depth sensor (104), that is adapted to capture 3D hand gestures and spatial information associated with an input provider, a processing circuitry (106) that is communicatively coupled with each of the image sensor (102) and depth sensor (104), and configured to receive visual input data from the image sensor (102) and the depth sensor (104) representing 3D hand gestures and spatial information, execute Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to analyze and extract spatial features from the input data viz hand shapes, finger positions, and gesture contours, process the temporal sequence of gestures by way of a Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs), ensuring dynamic gestures are accurately recognized and interpreted over time, including overlapping or fast-paced gestures, and translate the temporal sequences of gestures into a machine readable language.
