Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system and method for real-time obstacle detection and avoidance in robotic platforms using depth sensing arrays. The system comprises a robotic structural body having a locomotion assembly, a plurality of depth sensing units positioned along multiple directional regions of the robotic structural body, a sensing synchronization processor configured to coordinate environmental acquisition intervals, a spatial reconstruction processor configured to generate unified three-dimensional occupancy representations from acquired environmental depth measurements, an obstacle segmentation processor configured to determine obstacle contours and classify environmental objects into stationary and moving obstacle regions, a trajectory prediction processor configured to generate future positional estimations corresponding to moving environmental objects, and a motion control processor configured to generate adaptive collision-avoidance movement instructions according to reconstructed occupancy representations and projected obstacle trajectories.
