Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REAL-TIME COMMUNICATION CONFIDENCE MAPPING USING MULTIMODAL BEHAVIOURAL ANALYTICS The present invention is related to a system and method of adaptive communication confidence mapping using behavioral response loops. The system receives synchronized audio, visual, linguistic and interaction-related behavior data of the learner during spoken English communication exercises. The received data is segmented and behavior features are extracted for each of the modalities along with determination of reliability values specific to each modality and normalizing the features based on learner specific behavior baselines. The normalized behavior features are fused to develop a communication confidence map which is localized in time and represents the confidence, fluency, anxiety, stability and readiness of the learner. The system also detects cross-modality inconsistencies between verbal and non-verbal indicators of confidence and selectively generates speaking probes to diagnose the dominant communication deficiencies. On the basis of validated behavioral analysis, a personal speaking intervention is selected and the intervention-response signature is developed to fine tune the confidence estimate and future intervention parameters.
