MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611060542 A) filed by Lohum Materials Private Limited on May 12, 2026, for System And Method For Rapid Estimation Of Usable Capacity Of Lithium-Ion Cell.

Inventors include Roy, Amit; Sinha, Pratyush; Sarki, Suraj; and Verma, Rajat.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system (100) and a method (800) for rapid estimation of usable capacity of a lithium-ion cell. The system (100) includes one or more processors (104) and a memory (106) storing instructions that cause the one or more processors (104) to control, via an equipment interface (108), test equipment (110) to apply a partial charge/discharge protocol and acquire snippet test data including voltage measurements and time information. The one or more processors (104) normalize the snippet test data by interpolation and resampling into a fixed set of points, generate a feature vector including a voltage-drift feature computed based on comparison to a reference curve (230), select a capacity-estimation model based on an initial voltage and/or a data-quality condition, and generate an estimated usable capacity or a capacity class.
