Abstract: [071] The present invention relates to a system and method for quantum-assisted secure routing in distributed communication networks. The system comprises distributed communication nodes, a quantum security interface, network monitoring module, trust evaluation module, threat assessment module, adaptive route computation engine and secure route management module. The quantum security interface obtains quantum-derived security information including quantum-key availability, key freshness and quantum- channel status. The network monitoring module obtains network-performance parameters, while the trust evaluation and threat assessment modules determine trust and security conditions associated with network nodes and communication links. The adaptive route computation engine generates candidate routes and determines a composite route suitability value using quantum-derived security parameters, network performance, trust values and threat scores. A selected route is established and continuously monitored, and route reconfiguration is initiated when security degradation, network degradation, quantum-resource depletion, quantum-channel interruption or predicted route instability is detected. The system supports heterogeneous networks comprising quantum-capable and conventional communication nodes and selectively allocates quantum security resources according to communication security requirements, thereby providing adaptive, resilient and security-aware routing for distributed communication infrastructures.
