Abstract: A system (100) and a method (500) for providing real-time intraoperative surgical safety guidance is disclosed. The system receives a live intraoperative video feed from a surgical imaging device and preprocesses each frame of the live intraoperative video feed for deep learning inference. The system segments critical anatomical structures from each preprocessed frame. The system extracts a boundary of each segmented anatomical structure and computes a pixel-wise spatial distance map from the extracted boundary using a distance transform algorithm. The system classifies each pixel of the spatial distance map into one of a plurality of predefined risk levels based on a comparison of the computed distance against a set of predefined proximity thresholds. The system generates a color-coded danger zone overlay corresponding to the classified risk levels. Further, the system renders color-coded danger zone overlay onto the live intraoperative video feed in real time on a display interface.
