Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING EMOTION-AWARE MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT Disclosed is an AI-based mental health support chatbot system and corresponding computer-implemented method. User input (302) is received in text or voice form and processed using a hybrid NLP engine (304) including a GPT model for response generation and a BERT model for emotion detection, with a sentiment analysis module (306) identifying an emotional state. A decision engine (308) classifies the input as normal interaction or high-risk emotional distress and, upon crisis detection, activates a safety protocol providing helpline information and suggesting immediate support. Neural outputs are rule-filtered and topic-restricted to mental health-related queries before response delivery.
