MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511003787 A) filed by Centre For Development Of Telematics on January 16, 2025, for System And Method For Providing Automatic Hitless Adjustment Of Oduflex Bandwidth In Optical Transport Network.
Inventors include Shukla, Prerna; Murmu, Ram Chandra; Kumar, Ajay; and Gupta, Pooja.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: Present disclosure relates to system (102) and method for providing an automatic hitless adjustment of a flexible optical channel data unit (ODUflex) bandwidth in OTN (104). System (102) monitors bandwidth utilization of one or more nodes (108) by using one or more performance counters, the one or more nodes (108) comprises a source node (108-1) and a destination node (108-2). System (102) detects deviation of a current bandwidth from a pre-configured bandwidth threshold allocated to the source node (108-1) based on the monitored bandwidth utilization. System (102) computes corresponding tributary slots required for a current bandwidth demand of the source node (108-1) based on the detected deviation. System (102) initiates and transmits an adjustment request of a flexible optical channel data unit (ODUflex) from source (108-1) to destination node (108-2). System (102) execute hitless bandwidth adjustment in response to the received adjustment request of ODUflex by the destination node (108-2).
