Abstract: Disclosed is a propulsion and maneuvering system (100) and method (200) for an underwater vehicle. The system comprises a vehicle body (102), a first set of four propeller assemblies (104A-N) configured to generate thrust substantially along a Y-axis for controlling vertical movement and maintaining balance, and a second set of four navigation propeller assemblies (106A-N) positioned around the vehicle body (102) for generating navigation thrust. The navigation propeller assemblies (106A- N) are arranged substantially symmetrically and include respective propeller axes oriented at angular orientations comprising 133 degrees and 137 degrees relative to respective reference directions of the vehicle body (102). Rotation of the navigation propeller assemblies generates thrust vectors having X-axis and Z-axis components, thereby producing resultant forces and moments for translating and rotating the underwater vehicle. Coordinated operation of the propeller assemblies provides controlled multidirectional movement, position control, orientation control, maneuverability, hovering capability, and balance during underwater operation.
