MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641112057 A) filed by Srm University-Ap on September 18, 2026, for System And Method For Privacy-Preserving On-Device Continuous Behavioral Monitoring For Online Examinations.

Abstract: The present invention provides a system (100) and a method for continuous, privacy-preserving behavioral monitoring during online examinations of a candidate, comprises of a candidate edge device (200); a camera module (300) to capture real-time video frames of the candidate; an AI processing engine (400) executes locally on the candidate's edge device (200); a metadata transmission interface (500) to generate and transmit the structured metadata; a privacy-preserving interface (600) to restrict the captured video frames exclusively to the candidate edge device (200); a behavioral anomaly detection interface (700) to identify behavioral anomalies; a timestamp-based malpractice evaluation interface (800) to evaluate detected anomalies by assigning risk weights and construct a session risk score in real-time; and a remote server (900) to receive the structured behavioral metadata, aggregate detected behavioral anomalies over the online examination session, and determine candidate malpractice integrity without receiving or storing continuous raw video streams.
