Abstract: A privacy-preserving medical record access and emergency assistance certification system and method are disclosed. The invention employs a UUID-based token architecture wherein a physical QR token contains only a unique identifier and no personally identifiable information (PII), medical data, or cryptographic keys. Patient medical records are partitioned into public and private data tiers, the private tier being encrypted using a symmetric key. The symmetric key is individually wrapped for each authorized physician using Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman (ECDH) key agreement, enabling physician-specific access control and revocation through deletion of a corresponding wrapped-key record without re-encryption of stored medical records. Emergency medical information is accessible through QR-code scanning, while private records require cryptographic challenge-response authentication. The invention further provides an anonymous Good Samaritan certification framework employing commitment-based cryptographic proofs and non-interactive verification to generate verifiable emergency assistance certificates without disclosure of responder identity. The system enhances privacy, security, scalability, and emergency accessibility.
