Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system (102) and a method for preventing unintended operation of a sunroof in a vehicle. The system is configured to determine a plurality of facial attributes of a passenger in the vehicle using an imaging device. Further, the system is configured to fetch a profile of the passenger corresponding to the determined plurality of facial attributes from a profile database (218). Furthermore, the system is configured to calculate a violation score for the passenger based on number of violation events performed by the passenger with respect to an operation of a sunroof unit (204). The violation score being calculated is corresponding to the passenger profiles. Moreover, the system is configured to determine a violation level corresponding to the violation score. Moreover, the system is configured to enable locking of a seat belt of the passenger based on the violation level corresponding to the violation score.
