MUMBAI, India, Oct. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521079528 A) filed by Ennergy Experts Technologies Pvt. Ltd. on August 21, 2025, for System And Method For Predictive Switching Of Reactive Compensation Branches In Ac Electrical Lines..
Inventor includes Rajesh Madhav Deshpande.
The application for the patent was published on October 09, 2026, under issue no. 41/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a switching system (100, 200) and method for controlling coupling of a reactive compensation branch to an alternating-current (AC) electrical line. The system senses an instantaneous line voltage and independently senses an instantaneous voltage associated with the reactive compensation branch, and predictively determines, before occurrence of a zero-crossing, a phase angle at which the line-voltage waveform is approaching the zero-crossing. Based on the predictively determined phase angle and the independently sensed voltage, a switching instant is determined before the zero-crossing at which the voltages substantially correspond, and a switching command is generated to couple the reactive compensation branch at the determined switching instant. The system may further provide bulk and fine reactive compensation using antiparallel thyristors (130) and IGBTs (118), respectively, and transition conditioning using an SSR/transition-conditioning stage (136).
