MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641109640 A) filed by Vallurupalli Nageswara Rao Vignana Jyothi Institute Of Engineering And Technology on September 12, 2026, for System And Method For Predictive Network Traffic Anomaly Detection And Automated Intrusion Prevention.

Inventors include Dr. Vangipuram Radhakrishna; Rajput Eswar Sai Singh; Dr. Sravan Kiran Vangipuram; Dr. Annaluri Sreenivasa Rao; Dr. G. Suresh Reddy; Dr. N. Mangathayaru; and M. Raghupathi.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: An early-warning and intrusion-prevention system (10) captures live packets from a monitored network interface (280), converts the packets online into flow records, extracts selected flow-level attributes corresponding to a predefined network-traffic feature schema, and aggregates the attributes into short time-window traffic-state vectors. A detection model (250), developed using verified benign traffic, predicts expected state transitions and determines prediction errors from observed state transitions. An instantaneous time-domain residual and a finite-memory discrete-Laplace transform-domain residual are calculated from the prediction errors and combined to obtain a network-traffic deviation score. A warning-generation module (260) compares the deviation score with stored severity thresholds to generate LOW, MEDIUM or HIGH early-warning indications. An alert or blocking-action module (270) generates an alert or initiates traffic filtering, rate limiting, packet dropping, connection suppression or blocking, thereby providing technically actionable warning and mitigation during live network operation.
