Abstract: ABSTRACT System and Method for Predictive Maintenance and Mechanical Performance Monitoring Using Sensor Analytics A system that can monitor and implement predictive maintenance on an industrial mechanical system using an analytics approach based on sensors is presented in the present invention. This system includes a monitoring component that comprises a processor, a memory component, a transceiver, several sensors, a prediction analytics engine, and a maintenance management system used to monitor continuously an industrial process or operation. The sensors are used to collect data sets related to the process being monitored, which include data related to vibration, temperature, speed of rotation, condition of the lubricant, changes in torque and pressure, acoustic emission data, and data from strain gauges. These collected data sets are then preprocessed by the prediction engine, where artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques are applied to determine the operational parameters associated with degradation and predict its progression in addition to estimating the remaining useful life of the industrial mechanical system.
