MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641076270 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on June 19, 2026, for System And Method For Predictive Fall Risk Monitoring Using Wireless Signal Analysis.
Inventors include Neel Dhayagude; and Karthika Sk.
The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system (100) and a method for predictive monitoring of fall risk of a subject (122) in a monitored environment (120) using wireless signal analysis. The system (100) includes a wireless signal transmitter (102) and a wireless signal receiver (104) configured to capture wireless channel response data including Channel State Information, Channel Impulse Response, Doppler signatures, and phase and amplitude variations caused by movement of the subject (122). A signal processing unit (106) preprocesses the data, and a feature extraction engine (108) derives biological movement parameters including gait velocity, gait symmetry, sit-to-stand latency, and motion periodicity. A predictive intelligence engine (110) generates a personalized baseline model and computes a behavioral drift score to generate a predictive risk score indicative of fall probability within a predefined prediction window. An alert generation unit (112) generates a notification when the predictive risk score exceeds a predefined threshold.
