MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641088133 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on July 20, 2026, for System And Method For Predictive Failure Management And Autonomous Recovery In Distributed Systems.

Inventors include Prabhu J; and Siddharth S.

The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT The present invention relates to a predictive failure management and autonomous recovery system (100) for distributed systems. The system (100) comprises a failure detection module configured to identify failure conditions from logs, metrics, and event information, a dynamic dependency graph engine configured to generate dependency relationships among distributed components, and a failure propagation prediction module configured to determine propagation paths associated with detected failures. The system (100) further comprises a failure fingerprinting engine configured to generate and compare failure fingerprints with stored failure patterns, a simulation engine configured to evaluate candidate recovery strategies, a recovery impact predictor configured to determine impact assessment information, and a decision engine configured to generate confidence scores for recovery strategy selection. A recovery execution module performs execution of selected recovery strategies, while an adaptive learning module updates operational models using historical failure and recovery information. The invention further includes corresponding computer-implemented methods for predictive failure management and autonomous recovery.
