Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PREDICTIVE CROP-DISEASE CONTROL USING UAV The present invention discloses a system and process for predictive crop-disease control via an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The UAV comprises RGB sensors, multispectral sensors, thermal sensors, positioning capability, a processing unit and a variable-rate spraying mechanism. The collected data regarding crops, the environment and geospatial location is pre-processed and combined in order to derive information about crop health status, disease type, present level of infection, confidence in classifying crop disease, and predicted future disease risk of geo-tagged crop cells. A disease propagation model predicts infection zones by using neighboring crop status, weather, wind, humidity, crop spacing, irrigation flows, and historic disease records. A treatment prescription model creates a treatment plan for the specific crop cells in terms of treatment agent, dose, flow rate, spray droplet properties, UAV speed, and revisit frequency. Treatment is applied to certain crop areas via the UAV which adjusts for spray drift. Comparison of post-treatment multispectral and/or thermal images with the pre-treatment images provides information about treatment effectiveness.
