MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411041066 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Roorkee on May 27, 2024, for System And Method For Predicting Trajectories To Navigate Autonomous Entities By Performing Trajectory Imputation.
Inventors include Singh, Pravendra; and Chib, Pranav Singh.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: A system (100) and method (600) for trajectory imputation and prediction are disclosed. The system (100) includes a processor (302) and a memory (304) configured to receive, from a plurality of sensors (208) configured with an autonomous entity (102), real-time data comprising one or more trajectory sequences. The processor (302) identifies one or more missing values in the trajectory sequences and generates a first conditional view and a second conditional view by introducing distinct patterns of artificial missing values into the identified missing coordinates. A reverse diffusion process is performed on each conditional view to iteratively refine injected random noise and generate a first imputed trajectory and a second imputed trajectory. The processor (302) predicts, using a trajectory prediction model (410), a future trajectory (412) of the autonomous entity (102) based on at least one of the imputed trajectories. Motion cues (414) may also be used to improve prediction accuracy.
