MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641072762 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on June 11, 2026, for System And Method For Predicting Recoverable Precious-Metal Content And Economic Value Of Electronic Waste Devices.

Inventors include Pushpa Gothwal; Tapan Jayydeo Wankhade; and Anshuman Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a system (100) and method for predicting recoverable precious-metal content and economic value of electronic waste devices using device-associated data, image-based device characterization, predictive processing techniques, and valuation analysis to facilitate assessment of resource recovery potential from end-of-life electronic devices. The system (100) comprises a computing device (102) having a processor (104) and a memory (106) configured to execute plurality of modules (108) configured to perform recoverable precious-metal-content prediction and electronic-waste resource-recovery assessment operations for electronic waste devices. The computing device (102) is configured to execute processor-executed instructions for electronic waste device characterization, independent resource-recovery prediction, validity-controlled valuation generation, and recoverable-value assessment processing. The system (100) supports image-derived device characterization and generation of resource-recovery assessment outputs for communication to user devices (126), thereby improving prediction reliability, valuation accuracy, and resource-recovery decision support for electronic waste processing operations
