Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PREDICTING FATIGUE LIFE OF ADDITIVE MANUFACTURED TI-6AL-4V COMPONENTS USING PHYSICS- INFORMED NEURAL NETWORKS The present invention discloses a system and method for predicting fatigue life of additive manufactured Ti-6Al-4V components using physics-informed neural networks (PINNs). The invention integrates additive manufacturing process parameters, microstructural features, and mechanical test data with embedded fatigue mechanics equations to achieve accurate and interpretable predictions. Unlike conventional empirical or purely data-driven approaches, the disclosed system enforces partial differential equations and boundary conditions within the neural network architecture, ensuring consistency with established fatigue physics. The system comprises three modules: a data acquisition module for capturing process and microstructural inputs, a physics-informed modeling module for embedding fatigue equations, and a prediction module that outputs cycle-to-failure estimates with confidence intervals. This hybrid framework reduces reliance on extensive fatigue testing, improves generalization across geometries, and enhances trustworthiness of predictions. Applications include aerospace turbine blades, biomedical implants, and automotive structural parts, where fatigue reliability is critical. The invention accelerates design validation, reduces testing costs, and provides a scalable solution for fatigue life assessment in additive manufactured titanium alloys.
