MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641109314 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Chennai on September 11, 2026, for System And Method For Pre-Send Inference Of Relational Communication Tone.

Inventors include Vijay Kumar P; and Kunal Mukherjee.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system (100) and a method (700) for pre-send inference of relational communication tone. The system (100) comprises a processor (118), a memory (120), and a plurality of modules stored in the memory (120). A metadata capture module (102) intercepts keyboard events and message composition events during composition of a message, and captures behavioural signals based on intercepted keyboard events and message composition events. A recipient identity module (104) generates one-way hash of a recipient identifier associated with the message. A baseline module (106) maintains longitudinal statistical baseline associated with one-way hash, and updates longitudinal statistical baseline across successive compositions of messages. A drift scoring module (108) computes a drift score by comparing the captured behavioural signals with the longitudinal statistical baseline. A pre-send intervention module (110) generates a perceptible indication before the message is committed for sending when the drift score satisfies a threshold.
