Abstract: ABSTRACT System and Method for Pre-Failure Reliability Inference and Adaptive Autonomy Control The present invention relates to a system and method for pre-failure reliability inference and adaptive autonomy control in unmanned systems. The system continuously acquires multi-parameter operational data including power behavior, sensor performance, and communication quality. A machine learning-based analysis framework performs temporal behavior modeling to detect gradual degradation trends and infer system-level reliability states comprising normal, degraded, and unreliable. Based on the inferred reliability state, an adaptive autonomy control mechanism dynamically modulates system operation by restricting high-risk actions, adjusting mission parameters, and enabling human-in-the-loop intervention prior to failure. The invention establishes a closed-loop framework wherein reliability estimation directly influences real-time control decisions, thereby improving operational safety and mission reliability. The system operates using existing onboard data without requiring additional hardware and supports edge and cloud-based deployment. The invention provides a predictive, scalable, and efficient solution for reliability-aware autonomous operation across diverse unmanned platforms. Fig.3
