Abstract: ABSTRACT System and Method for Portable Medical-Sample Screening and Diagnostic Assistance The present disclosure provides a portable medical-sample screening and diagnostic assistance system and method configured to receive a biological sample via a disposable cartridge, evaluate sample integrity, adaptively control microfluidic sample routing, and perform reference-based sensor validation. A multiplicity of sensing modalities acquire measurement signals which are evaluated for sensor reliability, cross-modal consistency, environmental variation and measurement uncertainty. The system adaptively changes sensing or sample-routing operations based on the detected reliability, and does repeat, alternate or verification measurements if needed. The validated measurements are weighted by reliability and fused to derive an analytical profile with associated confidence for diagnostic assistance. The system also detects contamination and carryover conditions, compensates for sensor and environmental variations, securely stores measurement evidence, and communicates validated analytical information. The proposed architecture enhances the reliability, repeatability, sample utilisation, sensing efficiency and accuracy of portable medical-sample screening.
