Abstract: ABSTRACT System and Method for Patient Fall Detection and Caregiver Alert Communication The present disclosure relates to a system and method for patient fall detection and communication to alert a carer. The system collects wearable and ambient spatial sensing information, establishes a patient specific movement baseline and dynamic floor reference, temporally aligns heterogeneous sensor data, and reconstructs fall events using movement, orientation, spatial displacement and post-event activity. Sensor reliability is assessed with adaptive data weighting, and false alarms are reduced with recovery verification and fall confidence assessment. An evidence packet for fall events is generated and transmitted via an adaptive, fault-tolerant communication path with escalation in the event of communication failure or lack of acknowledgement by the carer, thereby increasing detection accuracy, sensor reliability, response time and carer communication.
