Abstract: The present disclosure provides a system (100) and a method (800) for optimizing acceleration performance of a vehicle (102). The system (100) includes a controller (110) configured to detect activation of a boost button (112) by a user of the vehicle (102), determine at least one of a regeneration torque demand of an electric motor (602) and an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) torque demand associated with vehicle (102). The controller (110) switches the operation of the electric motor (602) to a regeneration mode based on the regeneration torque demand and the ICE torque demand within a pre-determined time. The controller (110) dynamically computes a user torque demand based on an accelerator pedal input and one or more parameters. Further, the controller (110) optimizes the acceleration performance of the vehicle (102) based on the user torque demand.
