MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611088879 A) filed by Delhi Technological University on July 21, 2026, for System And Method For Operating Envelope Identification And Design Parameter Synthesis Of Sps- Controlled Dab Converters.

Inventors include Dutt, Krishna; Rizwan, M.; and Singh, Madhusudan.

The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system (100) and method (400) for operating envelope identification and design parameter synthesis of Single-Phase-Shift (SPS) controlled Dual Active Bridge (DAB) converters. The system (100) provides a unified closed-form analytical mechanism for optimizing transferred power, root-mean- square (RMS) currents, efficiency, and soft-switching feasibility. By using exact time-domain modeling, dead-time-based current synthesis, and nonlinear energy-based Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) characterization, the system (100) generates optimal design parameters based on measured inputs including primary voltage, phase shift, and switching frequency. The system (100) generates analytically constrained operating maps to guide safe real-time converter operation. The system (100) is applicable to electric vehicle charging, battery storage, and DC microgrids, resulting in reduced current stress, minimized losses, and an extended ZVS operating range,
