The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an embedded power backup and controlled shutdown system for computing devices lacking a functional primary battery. The system comprises an auxiliary embedded power module configured to detect external power failure and provide limited emergency power exclusively for operating system state preservation and controlled shutdown. A microcontroller communicates the power loss event through a non-battery signalling interface, preventing the auxiliary power source from being enumerated as a system battery. Upon receiving the signal, the operating system executes an energy-aware, priority-based auto-save process to preserve critical system state, application data, and user files before initiating a deterministic shutdown sequence. The invention prevents abrupt shutdown, data loss, file system corruption, and operating system instability without relying on external uninterruptible power supplies, continuous battery operation, firmware modification, or operating system kernel changes. The system is particularly suitable for desktops, industrial computers, workstations, refurbished, and battery-deficient computing environments.
