Abstract: One or more embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a system and method (together termed as mechanism) for night vision assistance for a vehicle. The mechanism includes regulating a direct-firing infrared emitter to illuminate a Field Of View (FOV). Further, the mechanism includes capturing image data of the illuminated FOV via an imaging sensor. The imaging sensor includes an infrared band filter to capture images in both visible and infrared spectrums. Furthermore, the mechanism includes processing the captured image data by dynamically adjusting imaging parameter. The imaging parameter includes gamma correction, gain control, and exposure settings. Moreover, the mechanism includes identifying objects within the processed image data, using artificial intelligence. Additionally, the method includes rendering night vision output, including the identified objects, to a driver for improved nighttime visibility.
