MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621082928 A) filed by Lakshmi Narain College Of Technology on July 06, 2026, for System And Method For Monitoring Soil Nutrient And Irrigation Control.
Inventor includes Dr M Zahid Alam.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING SOIL NUTRIENT AND IRRIGATION CONTROL The present invention is related to a system and method of intelligent control of soil nutrients and irrigation in agricultural fields. The system includes geo-referenced wireless sensors for soil and environment, Internet of Things Gateway, cloud analytics platform, decision engine based on artificial intelligence, field control assemblies, and remote monitoring interface. Soil and environmental parameters such as moisture, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, pH, electrical conductivity, temperature, and humidity from various management zones are sensed by the sensors. Based on the sensing data, the decision engine analyzes the data for reliability of measurements, prediction of moisture and nutrients requirement in each zone, and generating of control commands for irrigation and nutrient applications. Field control assemblies activate selected irrigation valves and nutrient dispensers based on the generated commands. Comparison of post-application measurements with predicted values updates calibration values, actuator parameters, model parameters, and control commands to minimize water usage and fertilizer losses.
