Abstract: A system (100) for monitoring a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder includes a reusable strap (116) configured to encircle a body of the LPG cylinder, and a protective enclosure (114) fixed to the reusable strap (116). The protective enclosure (114) houses a gas sensor (106) configured to generate a gas concentration signal and a tilt sensor (108) configured to generate a tilt signal indicative of an orientation of the LPG cylinder. A load cell (110) positioned at a base of the LPG generates a weight signal indicative of a weight of the LPG cylinder. A hardware processor (104) housed within the protective enclosure (114) determines a gas leakage status, a tilt status, and a remaining gas status, and triggers a wireless communication interface (112) to transmit a notification signal to a mobile application (128), causing the mobile application (128) to generate a user alert.
