MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641050892 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology on April 21, 2026, for System And Method For Monitoring Environmental Noise Effects On Crops And Assessing Crop Yield Impact.
Inventors include Vijayarajan V; and Kirubakaran M.
The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure proposes a system (100) and method for monitoring environmental noise exposure and evaluating its effects on agricultural crops by analyzing plant physiological responses and estimating crop yield impact. The system (100) comprises a computing device (102) having a processor (104) and a memory (106) for storing one or more instructions executable by the processor (104). The processor (104) is configured to execute a plurality of modules (108) for acquiring environmental acoustic data, detecting plant physiological stress responses, correlating acoustic exposure with plant thermal signatures, estimating crop yield impact, and communicating monitoring outputs to one or more user devices (130). The system (100) continuously monitors environmental noise levels in agricultural fields and detects corresponding physiological stress responses in crops using integrated acoustic sensing and thermal imaging technologies.
