MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441097681 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Madras Iit Madras on June 10, 2025, for System And Method For Modeling And Simulating Morphological Changes Of Tidal Inlets.
Inventors include Kantharaj Murali; and E Sree Nandhini.
The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a system (100) and method for modeling and simulating morphological changes of tidal inlets. The system (100) comprises a coastal data acquisition unit (102), a communication network (104), and a server (106). The coastal data acquisition unit (102) is configured to collect real-time data on tidal inlet dynamics using remote sensing, GIS (Geographic Information System) techniques, and on-site sensors. The communication network (104) is configured to transmit the collected data from the coastal data acquisition unit (102) to the server (106), ensuring seamless and reliable connectivity for real-time monitoring and analysis. The server (106) is configured to process, analyze, and store the transmitted data, providing insights into tidal inlet behavior, sediment dynamics, and shoreline morphology for decision-making. The server (106) further generates visual outputs based on the processed data and predictions to aid decision-making in coastal and riverine management.
