Abstract: A system (10) for use in a medical room (1), the system (10) comprising a chair or table (12) arranged to receive a patient for treatment or examination, and a cleaning enclosure (14) arranged to accommodate the chair or table (12), the cleaning enclosure (14) comprising means for cleaning the chair or table (12) accommodated therein, wherein the chair or table (12) is movable from a first location in which the chair or table (2) is located external to the enclosure (14) for treatment of a patient, to a second location in which the chair or table (12) is located within the cleaning enclosure (14) wherein the chair or table (12) is mounted on a support mechanism (18) comprising a support structure located in a fixed position internal to the cleaning enclosure (14), the chair or table being movably connected to the support structure so as to be moveable between the first location and the second location. Also disclosed are a room comprising a system (10) and a method of cleaning a patient chair or table (12).
