Inventor includes Bandyopadhyay, Ananya.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for improving human-computer interaction in multi-display environments. A computing device (170) coupled to a primary monitor (100) and one or more secondary monitors (110, 120) obtains image data from an image sensor to determine a user’s face orientation relative to the monitors (100, 110, 120). Based on the determined orientation, the system selects a target monitor and automatically positions a pointer controlled by a mouse (160) on the selected monitor. In certain embodiments, the system activates a window on the selected monitor such that keystrokes received from a keyboard (150) are directed to the active window. In further embodiments, a visual screen switching indicator (140, 240), such as a halo effect along an edge region (124), is presented to indicate an active screen or a system-driven pointer relocation, including after login, relogin, unlock, or inactivity. In additional embodiments, per-user application placement preferences are learned and applied.
