MUMBAI, India, Sept. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631109643 A) filed by Birla Institute Of Technology, Mesra on September 10, 2026, for System And Method For Longitudinal Neuroimaging Data Processing.
Inventors include Dr. Abhishek Tiwari; and Dr. Peeyush Tewari.
The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.
Abstract: Disclosed are a system (100) and method (200) for longitudinal neuroimaging data processing. Stored longitudinal T1-weighted magnetic resonance image volumes are encoded into latent neuroanatomical states and continuously evolved by a Neural Ordinary Differential Equation using respective acquisition times and a treatment- intervention input. Biological-consistency information and hippocampal volume and/or shape information are incorporated during optimization of the treatment- conditioned temporal evolution to generate a biologically constrained continuous latent-state trajectory. A common evolved latent state corresponding to a future time is processed to generate predicted future structural brain information and a corresponding machine-readable progression parameter. Unequal imaging intervals are processed without requiring uniform temporal resampling. In an embodiment, at least part of optimized continuous neural-flow inference is executed using FPGA hardware for reduced inference latency and energy consumption
